Kevin Swanson: My goal for you: Hate sin!

"Any friend of the world is an enemy of God," challenged Kevin Swanson, Director of Generations with Vision. "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." (2 Corinthians 10:5) Swanson continued. "Maintain a holy violence against the world by telling the truth." "When we define welfare as stealing and the abdication of the church, we tell the truth." When we equate the abortifacient pill -- which prevents implantation after conception -- with the murder of a baby by surgical abortion, we tell the truth. We are doing verbal violence against Satan, our arch enemy. Swanson encouraged Christians not to lose heart. "This is a battle we fight with Christ, in the power of Christ, engaging all of the enemies of Christ. Fight the good fight; be thorough in your battle! "What has sin or the devil done for you?," asked Swanson rhetorically. By contrast, "what has Christ done for you?" "My goal for you is to hate sin! Sin ruins relationships. You know what evil habits do to marriage." According to Morality in Media, 56% of all marriages end, in part, because of the devastation that a husband's addiction to pornography has had on the marital relationship. Swanson didn't hold back. "Why are you so disengaged? Why are you taking in all of that entertainment? Why not take in more of the Word of God? It counts for eternity. I’m not saying it merits you salvation. "Listen, if you’re a little washed up, remember Samuel, the great prophet. Samuel accomplished most of his life’s work after his 80th birthday! Don’t focus on those who walk away from God; focus on those who stand. "Get your armor on. Stand in the strength of Christ; maintain a holy resilience. Gain a gleam in your eye -- like old Samuel. "This battle is not forever and ever. There is Someone standing with you. One day there will be two figures walking out of the river -- you and your Lord Jesus Christ -- to the heavenly castle where you are to live happily ever after."
