Are you neglecting the house of God with spotty participation in its worship, preaching, ordinances, prayers, and fellowship? Are you prioritizing it? In Nehemiah 10 we see a picture of a people who have made a covenant saying,

"We will not neglect the house of God.”

Church life is meant to be characterized the way it is pictured in Acts 2:42, "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayers…"

This is earnest, consistent participation.

In Nehemiah 10, the revival continues as God’s people enter into a covenant to do this very same thing as they restore certain things which have been lost in their experience. It happened after reading the Word of God.

Nehemiah 10 shows what it looks like to truly embrace the authority and the sufficiency of scripture.

They will no longer be a people who are neglecting the things of God. There are several elements to this:

1. Separating from ungodly ways
2. Separating themselves to God and His Word
3. Reforming marriage
4. Reforming time and resources
They shifted their use of their resources of time and property as they returned to Sabbath Rest one day a week and returned to the seventh day Sabbath.
5. Reforming their relationship with the church and the worship of God by supporting the church with their money and their time.

There were 84 heads of tribes who signed the covenant.
