How should parents make the most of the time that they have with their children?
Joel Beeke explains in this video that when he was once assaulted in Eastern Europe and expected to die. He had the thought enter his mind what he would've told his children if he had one more chance to talk with them. If he didn't do family worship with his family, he explained that he would've had many things that he could've discussed with his family.
However, because they regularly studied Scripture together, they were able to have many edifying conversations. After family worship, the discusses what they read. Parents can also make good use of the time around mealtimes. They can try to steer the conversation towards deeper meaningful spiritual matters. They can bring a discussion of Scripture to that conversation.
1 Corinthians 10:31 (NKJV) - "Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
